Redevelopment Plan
The Fisherman's Quay adopted a long range redevelopment plan in 2001 to accommodate businesses that serve the market for outdoor recreational activities.  The first phase of this plan was accomplished in 2002 with the reconstruction of our marina.

Our new floats, dock and low-pitch gangway are now fully functional, providing terminal services to cruise ships, charter boat companies, and their passengers as well as convenient water access to the facility by customers doing business at the Fisherman's Quay.

Current Physical Condition:
While many improvements and structural repairs have been made to the buildings since the Calvin’s purchase in 1968, a renewed commitment to reinvestment by the management team
has dramatically improved the physical condition of the Fisherman’s Quay facility over the past five years.  A major expansion and frontage upgrade of Murray Pacific was successfully completed in the spring of 2000.  The Fisherman’s Quay structural piling identification and replacement program, which was formalized and active since 1997, received high commendation from a City building inspector.  A new 1,500 lb capacity hoist was installed shortly after the northwestern section of the dock was rebuilt in 1999.   All hoists receive annual safety and compliance inspections from a registered certification agency.  Many other sections of dock have been fully reconstructed using new dock railing details for improved safety.

The street side of the former Machine Shop has had extensive under dock repair.
This space is now being upgraded for retail sales and general office use.

Mechanical systems are also in greatly improved condition.  The relatively new furnace and expanded heat distribution system is in good operational order.  Extensive electrical reconfigurations a few years ago put the Fisherman’s Quay electrical system back under control.  The sprinkler system was extended such that now all floors of both buildings including below dock are fully protected.  New valves and a larger compressor were installed as part of the sprinkler expansion and upgrade.

The Fisherman’s Quay Partnership intends to continue with the physical upgrade program well into the future to maintain and enhance the use of the facility by our valued tenant businesses and customers.

Murray Pacific Expansion:
In the Summer of 2005 the Fisherman's Quay began a major renovation of old storage unit space adjacent to Murray Pacific's existing 7,500 s.f. of retail space.  After a year of hard work by the Fisherman's Quay Development Team, the keys to a brightly-lit and beautiful new 2,500 s.f. retail display area were turned over to Murray Pacific.  This expansion project has had a major impact as it has led to a complete re-organization and upgrading of warehouse space throughout the facility.
