In 1918 the Pyramid Packing Company built the main Fisherman's Quay warehouse for use as a fish cannery.  In 1926 the second warehouse was built to serve as a machine shop.  In 1968 Larry and Maryann Calvin purchased the buildings to operate Baranof Building Supply.  The successful building supply operation was sold to Spenard Builders in 1980 who continued leasing the premises for five years while developing their own facilities.  The Calvin’s formed the Fisherman’s Quay Partnership in 1980 to manage the facility as a commercial real estate development for waterfront oriented tenant businesses.
