About the North Bunkhouse

Facing Katlian St. on the first floor, designed to efficiently accommodate a large family or group of friends in a cabin-style atmosphere, yet the layout provides for intimate gatherings of smaller parties as well. It connects to the South Bunkhouse by an interior doorway.

It sleeps up to 10: two bedrooms, each with full over full sized bunk beds, plus one sleeper sofa. Solid timber bunks have drawers underneath and reading lights above, and the living area has a sofa, recliner and bookshelf. The kitchen is full-sized — electric range, microwave, prep table — and open to the dining table guests write to us about, with room for meals, puzzles and nightly board games.

The dock face is a short walk from the door, so charter pickups, the free kayak and canoe fleet and the seafood processing room are all a few steps away. Downtown Sitka is five minutes south on foot.

The interior door between BH-N and BH-S means the two units become one 1,420 sf space for up to 18 people — the usual arrangement for retreats, reunions and fishing parties using the Quay as a staging area. Book each unit through Sitka Travel, and they will help line the dates up. See the South Bunkhouse.

“It’s beautiful on the dock, clean, well-appointed, and cozy. We loved use of equipment!”
